About NCBC

About the Netherlands China Business Council

Founded in 1964, the Netherlands China Business Council (NCBC) is one of the oldest, largest, and most established independent non-profit bilateral business organizations in the Netherlands.

On 1 January 2020, NCBC merged with the Dragons Businessclub, further strengthening its network and expertise.

Our Mission

NCBC is dedicated to promoting and strengthening two-way trade, investment, economic cooperation, and mutual understanding between the business communities and public sectors of the Netherlands and China.

Our Network

NCBC provides its members with access to an extensive and well-established network across China and Europe. We work closely with the Netherlands Embassy, the Consulates General, and the Netherlands Business Support Offices in China, as well as with the Chinese Embassy in The Hague and the wider Chinese business community in Europe.

What We Do

For more than 50 years, NCBC has supported hundreds of companies in successfully entering, expanding, and operating in the Chinese and European markets. We:

  • Connect businesses with relevant partners and stakeholders
  • Organize regular business-focused events and activities
  • Support both SMEs and multinational companies in market entry and growth
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and strategic collaboration

International Reach

As a member of the EU-China Business Association (EUCBA) in Brussels, NCBC offers its members unique opportunities to engage with senior Chinese and EU officials, as well as leading private sector executives and experts.

Leadership

NCBC is governed by a board of experienced, internationally active executives with deep knowledge of China’s business environment. Their combined networks span both the public and private sectors at the highest levels in the Netherlands and China.

Over the decades, NCBC has organized and co-hosted numerous high-level conferences and events in both the Netherlands and China. These include engagements involving President Xi Jinping and His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, as well as visits from senior government and business delegations.

Looking Ahead

As China’s business environment continues to evolve, NCBC actively supports its members in identifying new opportunities, partnerships, and strategic alliances. We also assist Chinese companies, investors, and financial institutions seeking to expand into the European market.

Message from the Chairman

Dear member, partner, sponsor and reader,

Welcome to the home page of the Netherlands China Business Council (NCBC), the oldest and leading China business council in the Netherlands, formerly known as the China Council of the NCH. On 1 January 2020, we welcomed many members of the Dragons Businessclub, which merged with the NCBC.

With a history of more than 50 years, the NCBC is uniquely positioned to offer in-depth analysis, professional advice and assistance to members of both small and medium-sized companies and multinationals about the latest trade and investment-related developments in China and Chinese activities overseas.

Our extensive network of very experienced businessmen and high-level government officials  in both China and the Netherlands offer insights, business opportunities and benefits to both newcomers and established companies.

Every year the NCBC organises many events to include conferences, seminars, matchmaking sessions, workshops, executive education programmes and social events. Through our network and strategic partnerships in China with among others the CCPIT, CFIE, associations of Chinese entrepreneurs and top universities and business schools, we receive on a regular basis incoming business delegations from China.

The NCBC is also a member of the EU-China-Business Association (http://www.eucba.org/en/) in Brussels. Members of the NCBC can attend the activities of the EUCBA, such as the EU-China Summit and meetings with visiting business and government delegations from China.

As a member of the NCBC you will also be invited to activities of the NHKBA.

For more information about what the NCBC has to offer, please look under “Becoming a Member”.
