On 2 March 2020, the Netherlands China Business Council received the following letter from the China Chamber for International Commerce (CCOIC):

Dear Mr. Boudewijn Poldermans,
On behalf of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC), I hereby sincerely thank you for your constant strong support for our work, and appreciate your organization’s long term commitment to promoting the economic and trade exchanges, among other forms of cooperation between Netherlands and China.
The Chinese government and people are sparing no efforts to fight the COVID-19 virus since its outbreak, and have adopted effective measures to curb the spread of the virus. After arduous work, the positive trend in the prevention and control work is now expanding. China has full confidence, capability and determination to win this battle. With the prevention and control measures strictly put in place, China is promoting industrial and commercial enterprises to resume production and restore the order of production and life, thus safeguarding China’s opening-up and the stability of world economy.
Guided by the vision of a community with a shared future for the mankind, China has from the start acted in an open and transparent manner in releasing relevant information to the rest of the world and sought international cooperation to prevent the spread of the epidemic, and its preliminary achievements have been recognized by the World Health organisation and other countries.
The timely and valuable support from your country reflects your country’s and people’s friendly feelings for China, which we highly appreciate. Recently, the outbreak has hit Netherlands. We feel for what the Dutch people are going through and express our sincere sympathy. We believe that with our joint efforts, we can overcome the challenge brought by the epidemic this time.
CCPIT and CCOIC have launched a series of new measures while enhancing the existing legal, trade and investment promotion and other public services to help companies – domestic and international alike – to cope with the adverse affects the epidemic has brought about.
At this special time, we look forward to consolidating the cooperation with your side. With you, we hope to improve trade and investment, provide businesses with more platforms and better services to help baffled companies strengthen cooperation on a win-win basis, and make contributions to the consolidation of the business ties between Netherlands and China and building a community of shard future for mankind.
