Mid-Autumn Festival &  EU-China Trade Relations

Royal IGC invites NCBC members to their new event on the 25th of September 2023! Organized by China-Table Committee of Royal IGC (Koninklijke Industrieele Groote Club) “Celebration of Mid-Autumn Festival & Lecture EU-China Trade Relations following the entry into force of the EU’s Foreign Subsidies Regulation”

Since the entry into force of the Foreign Subsidies Regulation (FSR), additional requirements apply to companies in third countries that want to participate in a public tender in the EU, or if they want to make a takeover of a company. The FSR requires you to specify the degree of subsidy that the non-EU company has received. This has drastically changed the relationship between the EU and its trading partners China and the US.

On this evening we will enjoy mooncakes and have an economic and cultural program. After a reception in the Club Hall, Mr. JIN Yuan (Economic & Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in the Netherlands) will make an opening speech and participate in the Q&A session. Dr. Mr. Raymond Luja (Professor of Comparative Tax Law at Maastricht University) will give a lecture on the challenges and opportunities in the European market for relatively large Chinese companies, after the Foreign Subsidies Regulation (FSR) came into effect on June 12, 2023. The relationship between the EU and its trading partners China and the US has changed dramatically during the holiday season. Afterwards we will have dinner and continue the celebration of the Moon Festival in an appropriate manner. The chairman of the China-Table Committee of Koninklijke IGC, Koninklijke Industrieele Groote ClubXiaojia Xu, will highlight some cultural aspects and lead a cultural quiz. It will be an educational and impressive evening for everyone.
